Prime Video free trial FAQ
Is the Prime Video free trial really free?
Yes. New Prime members in the UK get 30 days of Prime, including Prime Video, at no charge. You are only billed if you keep the membership after the trial ends. Cancel before day 30 and you pay nothing.
Do I need a payment card to start the trial?
Yes. Amazon asks for a valid payment method when you start the trial, but nothing is charged during the 30 days. The card is only used if the membership continues after the trial.
What happens after the 30 days?
Unless you cancel, your membership continues at Amazon's standard Prime price, currently £8.99 a month or £95 a year in the UK. You can switch off auto-renew at any point during the trial and still use the full 30 days.
Can I get the trial if I've had Prime before?
The 30-day free trial is for new Prime members. If you've had Prime before, Amazon sometimes offers a new trial after a period of time. The sign-up page will tell you whether you're eligible before you commit to anything.
What's the difference between Prime and Prime Video only?
Full Prime includes Prime Video plus unlimited One-Day Delivery, Amazon Music Prime, Prime Reading, Prime Gaming and other perks. Which devices can I watch Prime Video on?
